Dict.cc is the dictionary site my university recommended and its the most comprehensive by far, including lots of hard to translate idioms as well as obscure terms. This is a perfectly fine app for it. If this didnt exist I might have tried to make it myself -- other apps have ~10mb dictionaries, but with this one you can download a 250mb one that has literally every word I can think of. Badonkadonk, Sitzpinkler, velocipede -- I just tried these three obscure and slang terms and all showed up.

The best offline dictionary app Ive found bar none. German / English. Fast bi-directional searching, solid results, highly recommended.

Instantly crashes when launching the app or pressing a button! Unusable since the last update! iPhone 6 ios 9.0.2

I am missing Armenian - English and Armenian - German. Armenian is one of the oldest language of the world.

Very detailed, multiple languages is convenient as well.

Great application for translation between German and English. The phrases available are extremely useful. I would like to see a feature where I could click on a word and see the plural form though. I would also like to see other dictionaries expanded so that I can use this for all my translating needs.

Really useful and fast. No need to specify the language Im entering to find a word. I love the quizzing/personal vocabulary list feature and that the audio clips are from real humans instead of text to speech. Totally worth the cost of the app and then some.

And also a great developer who listened to customers wishes. Well done.

Love this site and its app! I use it all the time for school and even when Im having a conversation and cant remember a word!

This app is a great help for surviving in Germany :) It is pretty fast and the DB has a lot of words. But is a bit overpriced. It has been very helpful in my German classes, as it is faster than a paper dictionary.

Not bad. The only thing it needs is a way for it to say the word. Like if I click on the French word. It should say it out loud. Would be a big help! Sweet they updated what I asked. Perfect app would highly recommend!

I have been using dict.cc for years, and this app is just as good as the web service. The outstanding feature are the offline dictionaries of course - finding a word shouldnt b dependent on my carriers coverage in a given area

Every time I try to download vocab from dict.cc, it crashes once it reaches 100%. Please fix this error soon.

Downloading vocabulary leads to crash at 100%. When I try again to use the app, it asks me again to download the vocabulary. This does not happen with the free version, only the paid version.

After using dict.cc online version for years, I was delighted to see the app - so Im no longer dependent on an internet connection to use what I consider to be the best dictionary. Its a superb reference and the developer continues to find ways to make it better. Thank you!

Im happy to be able to support the development of such a great resource as dict.cc. Perhaps the widest range of German vocabulary available on the iPhone. The dict.cc resources were developed with vision and consistently high standards. Thank you for making such a wealth of knowledge available for such a small price.

Cant wait for the Arabic-English version to come out.

Will upgrade review stars if/when I can get the app to successfully download German language packs.
